MUSIC: Ace local guitarist Gary Murphy with his own band and show, Guitar Legends. The story of guitar history from Murphy written and produced by him and - of course - starring the man himself. One of the last shows at this venue before closure and rebuilding. Tonight, 7.30pm, Floral Pavilion Theatre The Floral Pavilion is a theatre in the seaside town of New Brighton, Merseyside, England. CLASSICAL: The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra based in Liverpool, England, is one of the world's oldest established orchestras. It is part funded by the local authority, and is administered by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society (RPLS), a registered charity.  conducted by Vasily Petrenko with a spring flavoured concert aptly titled Voices of Spring. Includes Stravinsky's ballet music from the Rite of Spring, Strauss's Voices of Spring and Henze's Ode to the West Wind Percy Bysshe Shelley composed the poem "Ode to the West Wind" in 1819 and published it in 1820. Some have interpreted the poem to be an expression of the speaker lamenting his current geolocation, but at the same time rejoicing in the fact his/her written works will have influence  for cello and orchestra, with soloist Jonathan Aasgaard, above.
