ARTS DIARY: Comedy novices in their new home; Mike Chapple reports on the under-18comics.

The Liverpool Comedy Trust has teamed up with National Museums Liverpool to move into the Walker in William Brown Street William Brown Street in Liverpool, England is a road that gives its name to the William Brown Street conservation area. It is remarkable for its concentration of public buildings.  after the closure of The Picket,Stand Out's old base.

The nights at the Walker which begin tomorrow offer the chance for young people to hear comedians of their own age perform material relevant to them.

They will be graduates of the trust's graduate comedy course.

This was a process in which local stand-ups Chris Cairns Cairns, city (1991 pop. 64,463), Queensland, NE Australia, on Trinity Bay. It is a principal sugar port of Australia; lumber and other agricultural products are also exported. The city's proximity to the Great Barrier Reef has made it a tourist center.  and Stephanie Davies visited 20 secondary schools throughout Merseyside and the North West for two hours every week for six weeks. They travelled as far as south Manchester and Atherton to teach them the difficult art of taking the stage alone and making people laugh.

Eight graduates will perform at tomorrow night's show that starts at 7pm.

There will be no alcoholic drinks on offer but other than that the club will be run just like any other comedy club on the national circuit.

A headline act from the national circuit will close the show.

Tomorrow's show which starts at 7pm will feature North West Comedian of the Year Seymour Mace and Chris Cairns will be the compere com·pere   Chiefly British

On Thursday,July 8 the guest will be Patrick Monahan.

The final of the Stand Out competition -at which the winning graduate will be chosen -will take place on Thursday,July 15 at Central Hall on Mount Pleasant.

The club nights originally took place during last year's comedy festival and were a great success Education director of Liverpool Comedy Trust Michael Quirke said: ``We are thrilled to be able to continue the club in such grand and inspiring surroundings. This is the beginning of a collaboration with NML (language) nML - A specification language for instruction sets, based on attribute grammars, for back-end generators.

 that we hope will continue for a long time and they have been very supportive of our work with young people. The added bonus of performing the shows in the Walker is that they are now free,making them even more accessible to all.''

Kate Rodenhurst,head of community partnerships at NML, said: ``I'm sure the young people will create inspired comedy in these dramatic surroundings.''
