Bluecoat chairman Simon Ryder, added: "The board is tremendously excited about the prospects for the Bluecoat over the next few years. "Alastair brings a fantastic track record from his leadership of Charleston, and we are confident his appointment will secure and expand Bluecoat's position within the local and regional cultural infrastructure." The current Bluecoat director Bryan Biggs, who once controlled the building's art gallery, will now move on as artistic director. "I look forward to developing Bluecoat's gallery, performance and arts participation activities," he said. "Alastair's arrival will boost our capacity to realise our ambitions for Liverpool's leading centre for the contemporary art." |
