ARTS COMMISSION ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 3 OPEN SEATS.

The city is seeking applicants to fill three vacancies on the Arts Commission, an 11-member body that advises the City Council on cultural development.

Current projects overseen by the Arts Commission include the annual Art and Photography Show, the Children's Mural mural

Painting applied to and made integral with the surface of a wall or ceiling. Its roots can be found in the universal desire that led prehistoric peoples to create cave paintings—the desire to decorate their surroundings and express their ideas and beliefs.

Applicants should have interest and expertise in at least one of the the following areas: the visual, media, performing or literary arts; arts management or marketing; arts education or funding; architecture; history, collaborations in the arts; or the broad spectrum of the arts.

Commission members are appointed by the City Council for two-year terms. The commission meets the second Thursday Thursday: see week.  of each month from September September: see month.  through July.

Applications will be accepted through Thursday. Apply at the City Clerk's Office in City Hall at the Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  Blvd.
