ARTISTdirect Announces Effectiveness of Reverse Stock Split.

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 5, 2001

ARTISTdirect, Inc. (Nasdaq:ARTD) today announced that its one-for-ten reverse stock split has become effective for stockholders of record at the close of business on Thursday, July 05, 2001. The Company's common stock will trade on a post-split basis beginning Friday, July 6, 2001. For 20 trading days In Business, the trading day is the time span that a particular stock exchange is open. For example, the New York Stock Exchange is, as of 2006, open from 09:30AM to 4:00PM. Trading days never take place on weekends.  after the reverse split, the Company's shares will trade on The Nasdaq National Market System under the symbol "ARTDD". Upon expiration of the 20-day period, the Company's shares will continue to trade under the symbol "ARTD". After the reverse split, the Company will have approximately 3.6 million shares of common stock outstanding, subject to reduction for fractional shares Fractional share
