NEWHALL - The Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  Artists Association has grown much since its humble beginnings Humble Beginnings was an American pop punk band from New Jersey. ``We've got more than 100 pieces of art coming in,'' organizer Diane Bruckner said, working to ready the Newhall gallery for the onslaught of Classic entries. ``Oils, acrylics, graphics, watercolors, photography, sculpture and mixed media - a little bit of everything.''

Bruckner said the event, now in its 16th year, is expected to draw more than 300 art aficionados to the association's San Fernando Road San Fernando Road is a major street in the city and county of Los Angeles. It starts off in Castaic as The Old Road, passing through Santa Clarita and the Newhall Pass, where upon its intersection with Sierra Highway near the junction of the Golden State (I-5) and the  gallery.

On Saturday, the Classic comes home to the association's permanent gallery on San Fernando Road in Downtown Newhall.

The gallery will expand its space for the evening event with a tent in the alley behind San Fernando Road, where guests will enjoy musical entertainment and refreshments re·fresh·ment

The association also will begin holding art workshops for children and adults after the first of the year in some newly acquired space at the rear of the gallery.
