ARTISTS CAN WIN CASH ENTERING CONTESTS EXPERTS, AMATEURS INVITED TO COMPETE.

LANCASTER - Artists are invited to compete in the 17th Annual Juried All Media Art Exhibition and the California Poppy California poppy: see poppy.

Annual garden plant (Eschscholzia californica) in the poppy family, native to the western coast of North America and naturalized in parts of southern Europe, Asia, and Australia.
 Festival Art Contest, Lancaster Museum Art Gallery officials said.

The juried art exhibition will run from Feb. 2 to March 10 at the art gallery. The show is co-sponsored by the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

 Allied Arts Association and is open to professional and novice artists in all media and themes.

Judging the competition will be Christina Newhouse, the curator at the City of Torrance-Joslyn Fine Arts Museum. She will pick the pieces to be displayed at the exhibition as well as the winners of $850 in cash awards.

Prize awards were donated by several local organizations.

Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery Associates will provide the $200 first place, $150 second place and $100 third place awards, and $100 LMAG LMAG London Motorists Action Group (UK)
LMAG London Market Actuaries' Group
 Associates Members' Award.

Antelope Valley Allied Arts Association/Allied Arts Cedar Community Arts Centre An art center or arts centre is distinct from an art gallery or art museum. An arts centre is a functional community centre with a specific remit to encourage arts practice and to provide facilities such as theatre space, gallery space, venues for musical performance,  and the Lancaster Photography Association will each give a $100 award.

Entry fees are $5 for each art piece.

Beginning this year, members of the Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery Associates may enter one piece for free. Artwork and completed applications will be accepted at the museum/art gallery Jan. 16-19.

In addition, the city of Lancaster The City of Lancaster (2002 population: 133,914) is a local government district with city status in Lancashire, England. Its main town is Lancaster, from which it obtained its city status. Other towns in the district include Morecambe, Heysham, Slyne, and Carnforth.  will select 10 artists to participate in the California Poppy Festival ``A Splash of Color'' art contest held April 20 and 21 at Lancaster City Park.

The contest is free to enter and selected artists will receive $150 for their artwork, which can be a banner or a panel and must have a wildflower wildflower

Applications for both contests are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Lancaster City Hall, 44933 Fern Ave; or from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the museum/art gallery, 44801 Sierra Hwy.
