The firm purchased a small software company here in 1984, which evolved into today's high-technology presence. More than 800 Sarasota employees produce state-of-the-art business software and technical solutions for Arthur Andersen, its clients and the external market, and support the technology infrastructure for more than 72,000 firm employees in 84 countries.

The Americas Operations Center (AOC) began operations in January 1998. The AOC is Arthur Andersen's "shared services shared services, the administrative, clinical, or other service functions that are common to two or more hospitals or their health care facilities and used jointly or cooperatively by them.
