ARTEL Announces $100 Million in Previously Unannounced DoD Contracts.


RESTON, Va. -- ARTEL Artel (Russian: арте́ль) is a general term for various cooperative associations in Russia, historical and modern. , Inc., a global leader in Information Technology and Managed Network Services, today announced that since January 2006 the company has signed nine previously unannounced contracts valued at approximately $100 Million. The contracts are a combination of exercised options on previous awards and new task orders for the Department of Defense.

The task orders were competitively awarded under the DISA 1. (body) DISA - Defense Information Systems Agency.
2. (standard) DISA - Data Interchange Standards Association.
 Defense Information Systems Network Satellite Transmission Services-Global (DSTS-G DSTS-G DISN Satellite Transmission Services - Global (US DoD) ) contract. DSTS-G provides a contractual vehicle for the Defense Department, federal agencies, and other users authorized by DoD, to obtain global fixed satellite service (FSS FSS Federal Supply Service (US General Services Administration)
FSS Flight Service Station
FSS Family Self-Sufficiency
FSS Fixed Satellite Service
FSS Forensic Science Service (Great Britain) 
) bandwidth and related satellite-based services and applications. DISA awarded ARTEL, one of three prime contractors, the DSTS-G contract in February 2001.

Among other services, ARTEL will be providing real-time, proactive monitoring and positive control over the day-to-day physical and logistical configuration of leased satellite bandwidth, earth terminals and associated terrestrial interconnection resources. ARTEL will also provide host nation agreement negotiating and systems engineering support.

All expressed contract award terms and values represent the amounts that ARTEL expects to receive from the agreements if all options are exercised.
