ART21, Art in a New Century, Debuts in Las Vegas Nov. 3-6, 1999.

ART21 Las Vegas, the art fair and exhibition of the next century, will debut this year from Nov. 3-6 at The MGM Conference Center, located in the MGM Grand Hotel.

Composed of two sections covering more than 70,000 square feet, ART21 will highlight Unique Art and Editions from all over the world, it was announced Tuesday by show producers Steven D. Addi and Eric J. Smith.

"ART21 was born out of requests for an art fair that provides both an interesting and fun place to do business and entertain, while also providing visitors with new things to see," said Smith. "Las Vegas is the place you can stroll from Steve Wynn's masterpiece collection, to new restaurants like Aureole with Chef Charlie Palmer. Las Vegas provides the food, fun, our exhibitors provide the art, it's truly a winning combination."

The Unique section of art will feature those galleries, dealers and publishers representing original art works consisting of paintings, drawings, sculpture, glass and objects of fine art. The Editions section will consist of publishers, distributors, galleries and dealers representing limited editions of graphics, prints, sculpture and photography.

"The art world is changing as we enter into the next millennium," Addi commented. "We have spent many years looking into and developing several concepts to address the needs of both the art buyer and dealer. We know we have developed that winning formula to make the art experience not only enriching, but also incredibly satisfying for all those who attend. ART21 is where the world will buy art."

The show schedule for ART21 is as follows:

-- Wednesday, Nov. 3: Grand Opening reception (6-9 p.m.) will benefit
   Sunrise Hospital Children's Fund of Las Vegas to raise monies for
   deserving children who cannot afford medical care. Special VIP
   guests will attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony, entertainment and
   silent auction, to launch the opening night festivities.

-- Thursday, Nov. 4: Show hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. A special
   educational program for local high school students interested in
   the arts will take place in the afternoon with a special tour of
   all dealers and exhibitors. Various schools will participate in an
   art competition, with 21 winners chosen and put on exhibition in
   the concourse area of the Convention Center.

-- Friday, Nov. 5: Show hours are noon-8 p.m. A special Fine Art
   dealer party for attendees and exhibitors will be sponsored by
   Art & Antiques Magazine from 6-8 p.m. on the show floor.

-- Saturday, Nov. 6: Show hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The MGM Conference Center is located in the MGM Grand Hotel Las Vegas and is one of the largest and most luxurious hotels in Las Vegas.
