Autumn is just around the corner - you can tell because coffee bistros are offering pumpkin scones. The weather may not be brisk yet, but it still is a good time to celebrate the great indoors with a visit to a museum.

The Los Angeles County Museum Los Angeles County Museum, Los Angeles, Calif. The original museum opened in 1913. Among its important patrons was William Randolph Hearst, whose enormous collection brought the museum major status among the country's art houses.  of Art's highly successful summer attractions featuring the works of Modigliani and French artists from the State Pushkin Museum will be closing soon, as will the Getty Center's exhibit of medieval books.
