An exhibit of prints by Portland artist Mark Perry is on display through Nov. 12 at the Lane Community College Art Gallery, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Building 11. The show, "Whenever It Comes," features work done in print processes such as relief, intaglio intaglio (ĭntăl`yō, –täl`–), design cut into stone or other material or etched or engraved in a metal plate, producing a concave, instead of a convex, effect. It is the reverse of a relief or cameo. and woodcut woodcut Design printed from a plank of wood incised parallel to the vertical axis of the wood's grain. One of the oldest methods of making prints, it was used in China to decorate textiles from the 5th century. . "Most of my imagery is nonrepresentational non·rep·re·sen·ta·tion·al adj. Of, relating to, or being a style of art in which natural objects are not represented realistically; nonobjective. with symbolic and recognizable elements involved," the artist says. "Most of my prints are one of a kind, and all of them are hand printed via a press. The main theme has been based on `fate.'" A reception will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at LCC. Sculpture exhibit at Karin Clarke Gallery A small retrospective exhibit of sculpture by David Miller is on exhibit through Nov. 14 at the Karin Clarke Gallery, 760 Willamette St. A reception will be held during the Nov. 6 First Friday Art Walk. Miller works in a variety of materials, including limestone and marble.
