Outside report on UO's

art museum delayed

A private consultant's report evaluating operations at the University of Oregon's Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art is an art museum located on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. The original building was designed by Ellis F. Lawrence as part of his "main university quadrangle," now known as the Memorial Quadrangle.  will not be available until at least January, the university says.

Connecticut consultant Alceste Pappas was hired last summer by the UO to look at the museum. Her report was expected in September.

But Allan Price, vice president for advancement at the UO, said last week that the university has now asked Pappas to come back in January for further discussions before completing her study.

Earlier this year, Pappas conducted a similar study of the university's Oregon Bach Festival The Oregon Bach Festival is an annual celebration of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, held in Eugene, Oregon in late June and early July. It was co-founded by German conductor Helmuth Rilling and the former president of the American Choral Directors Association, Royce Saltzman,  and strongly criticized the festival's management, marketing and programming.

Price said the delay in the art museum report results partly from the experience with the Bach festival The Bach Festival is a music festival held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. the Festival promotes Baroque music, and was founded in 1976 by Michael Korn. References
