A suspected arson at Bugle Boy Bugle Boy is a brand of pants popular in the 1980s founded by Dr. William Mow in 1977. It declared bankruptcy in 2001.

Bugle Boy featured men's and boys' clothing, often with a denim theme.

Smoke inhalation typically occurs in victims or firefighters caught in structural fires.
, forced the evacuation of about 90 employees and caused about $80,000 in damage Wednesday morning.

The blaze broke out sometime before 7:45 a.m., when firefighters were called to a Bugle Boy Industries Inc. warehouse on Shasta Way.

The fire started on the second shelf of a storage rack holding clothing and was controlled within minutes by sprinklers activated by a fire alarm system, Ventura County fire dispatchers said.

Smoke from the blaze could be seen about half a mile away as morning commuters made their way to work.

``About 60 warehouse employees were evacuated and about 30 more office employees were evacuated after the alarm went off,'' said Genvieve Mow, a company spokeswoman. ``(Seven) employees were taken to the hospital and treated for (smoke inhalation), six were later released and one is being held for observation as a precaution.''

One warehouse worker, Donald Singleton, suffered more severe smoke inhalation and was taken to Los Robles Robles is a common surname in the Spanish language meaning oaks, and may refer to:

Ventura County fire investigators said Wednesday that the cause of the fire is under investigation, but would reveal no further details.

In early reports, investigators said sufficient evidence was found at the scene to indicate arson.

Warehouse and office workers not treated for smoke inhalation had returned to work by noon Wednesday, Mow said.

Mow estimated that about $80,000 worth of clothing was damaged by the fire or by water used to extinguish it. Sixteen pallets laden with clothing were burned, Mow said.
