ARSON INVESTIGATORS CALLED AFTER FATAL FIRE.

Sheriff's arson investigators were called in to probe a house fire that claimed the life of a Littlerock man.

Called by a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the single-story stucco house, firefighters saw no flames when they pulled up, but discovered the interior was filled with smoke and found the man clothed clothe

Firefighters performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), emergency procedure used to treat victims of cardiac and respiratory arrest. CPR can be done in a hospital with drugs and special equipment or as a first-aid technique.  on the man, whose heart had stopped, and he was flown by a Sheriff's Department helicopter to Antelope Valley Hospital.

The man's name was not released. Firefighters said he appeared to be in his 40s.

Firefighters said they got the call of the fire at 3 p.m. and had the blaze knocked down by 3:19 p.m. The fire started in the kitchen, but the cause was not obvious, officials said.

``It's all under investigation,'' Robinson said.

A neighbor reported that the man had talked about suicide frequently, officials said.
