ARSON DANGER.ARSONISTS are putting homes at risk after deliberately setting fire to woodland and green spaces. The warning comes from North Wales Fire and Rescue senior fire safety manager Richard Fairhead after trees in Wepre Park, Connah's Quay were set on fire on Sunday and gorse gorse: see furze. gorse Any of several related plants of the genera Ulex and Genista. Common gorse (U. europaeus) is a spiny, yellow-flowered leguminous shrub native to Europe and naturalized in the Middle Atlantic states and on Vancouver Island. and bracken destroyed in a blaze on fire; burning with a flame; filled with, giving, or reflecting light; excited or exasperated. Mr Fairhead said: "These fires put homes at risk, endanger the lives of people and fire crews keeping them from attending genuine emergencies, endanger livestock, and cost the local economy large amounts of money as well as blighting the local countryside." |
