ARRMS update.

ARRMS members met on May 28th at the ACSM annual meeting in Seattle. Among the topics discussed were developing the website to serve as a manual of medical information for medical directors. Relevant articles and funding sources will be sought for the site enhancement. ARRMS officers also reported that they are working to secure medical liability insurance through USATF and create a unified medical record for marathons based on the record currently used at Boston, Chicago, Twin Cities, and Houston.

The group tentatively agreed to meet in conjunction with the Chicago Marathon in the fall, and again at the Houston Marathon in January 2010. Thereafter, ARRMS will meet in spring 2010 at the Boston Marathon or ACSM meeting.

The American Road Race Medical Society, along with AMAA, is a sports medicine division of the American Running Association. If you'd like to learn more about ARRMS, go to www.arrms.org.
