ARRIVAL COUNTDOWN WORK ON TRANSPORTATION HUB RECOVERS FROM STORM DELAYS.Byline: Jim Skeen Staff Writer PALMDALE - Metrolink service is tentatively set to begin at Palmdale's new transportation center April 25, officials said Monday. After delays from the winter's heavy storms, work on Palmdale's $10.8 million transportation center should be completed in time for Metrolink train service to begin next month. An official grand opening is being planned for June. City officials had hoped to begin service out of the center last month, but this winter's heavy storms pushed back its opening. Actual damage from the storm was minor, but some of the work was delayed by the water-saturated ground. ``The primary work left is the landscaping and polishing the interior,'' said Leon Swain, Palmdale's public works public works pl.n.
