It was shortly after 8 p.m., when two men entered the automotive repair shop carrying a knife and a gun and demanded money from one of the employees.

The men took cash and then ordered the employee to lie on the ground as they made their escape. The employee was not injured, officials said.

A day earlier, sheriff's deputies said that the two suspects might have been involved in a robbery attempt outside a Valencia hotel and a carjacking in Canyon Country.

Robbers initially approached the man at gunpoint and demanded his money outside the Hampton Inn at 25259 The Old Road. When the attempt failed, they drove to Canyon Country where they stole another man's car, officials said.

Officials said they believed the two robberies and carjacking might be connected and are looking at other crimes that the pair may have committed.

``It's looks like they might be connected,'' Cohen said. ``We're looking into it.''
