ARREST MADE IN DISABLED MAN'S DEATH.

 detectives arrested a 20-year-old Pacoima man Tuesday morning on suspicion of beating a wheelchair-user to death during a robbery committed at the victim's home just before Christmas last year.

Carlos Barrios Barrios is a name of Hispanic origin. The name may refer to: Persons

  • Arturo Barrios (born 1962), Mexican long-distance runner and former world record holder
 was arrested near Orion Avenue and Chatsworth Street about 10 a.m. Tuesday after detectives spotted him, said Officer Daniel Parra of the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Police Department's Foothill Division.

Barrios was booked in lieu of $1 million bail and transported to the LAPD's Van Nuys Jail, Parra said.

Barrios was followed by authorities from his home to the location, where he was stopped while in a vehicle with a friend and taken into custody without incident, Parra said.

Police were seeking Barrios in connection with the fatal beating and robbery at the home of 64-year-old Charles Dixon Charles Dixon is the name of:
  • Charles Dixon (tennis player), an English tennis player
  • Charles Dixon (ornithologist), an English ornithologist
  • Chuck Dixon, an American comic-book author
 in the 11800 block of Vanport Avenue on Dec. 22.

``The suspect went in, beat him to death and took his money,'' said Detective Frank Bishop, noting that less than $100 appeared to be taken.

Police say it did not appear to police that Barrios knew Dixon, who was found handcuffed and dead in the home where he lived alone. Officers at the scene said the home was ransacked ran·sack
