AROUND THE VALLEY.SAN FERNANDO Prosecutor won't press charges in stabbings A second prosecutor has decided there isn't enough evidence to charge a 17-year-old boy who police allege stabbed two students in a campus brawl at San Fernando High School earlier this month. "If additional evidence is presented to us, we will review it. We have an open mind on this case," said Sandi Gibbons, Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office spokeswoman, who added that prosecutors looked at the case again at the request of school police. Deputy District Attorney Ronald Smalstig of the Sylmar Juvenile Court came to the same conclusion as Deputy District Attorney Larry Diamond, who recently turned down the case for prosecution shortly before retiring. Lt. Keith Moore, East Valley commanding officer for the Los Angeles School Police Department, said at the very least he was hoping the boy would face felony charges for allegedly bringing a knife on campus.
