Business park construction begins

PALMDALE -- City officials broke ground Monday on a new business park near a hospital under construction.

Challenger Business Park, near Fifth Street West and Palmdale Boulevard, will offer medical and office suites ranging from 800 to 4,900 square feet and retail spaces with 7,800 to 13,200 square feet.

Palmdale Regional Medical Center Palmdale Regional Medical Center also known as Palmdale Hospital (PMC) is a private hospital that is under construction and located in Palmdale, California. This acute care facility will be the only hospital in Palmdale, the largest American city currently without a , a $170 million, 239-bed facility on Tierra Subida Avenue, is scheduled to be finished in late 2008.

Palmdale ex-convict sentenced in murder

LANCASTER -- A Palmdale ex-convict was sentenced Monday to 52 years to life in prison for murdering his girlfriend's 3-year-old son, who coroner officials said died from blunt-force trauma to his abdomen.

Ladrill Bogan, 34, was convicted in November of murdering Jeremiah McKenney. Jeremiah died in September 2006 in a hospital after he was found not breathing at a Palmdale Boulevard motel where the family had been staying.

Investigators said Bogan told them he was getting ready to drive away from a friend's house when the child fell out of his car seat and hit his chest on the door frame of an SUV.

Holiday Toy Express will arrive Saturday

LANCASTER-- Metrolink's 11th annual Holiday Toy Express train will visit the Antelope Valley on Saturday, arriving at the Lancaster station at 5 p.m. and the Palmdale station at 6:50 p.m.

The train will be decorated with more than 50,000 twinkling, animated light displays and will bring a stage show featuring Santa and his friends from the North Pole North Pole, northern end of the earth's axis, lat. 90°N. Kellar set to begin mayoral term tonight

Santa Clarita Councilman Bob Kellar will be the city's new mayor starting tonight. Kellar was first elected in 2000 and re-elected in 2004. He is up for re-election in April.

Conejo Valley Days wish list: sponsors

THOUSAND OAKS -- Sponsors are being sought for Conejo Valley Days 2008, the annual Western- theme event to raise money for local charities.

Next year's event, themed Come Along with Me to CVD CVD Cardiovascular disease, see there , will begin April 19 with a kickoff picnic and classic car show on the Civic Arts Plaza lawn. A five-day dose of nostalgia, carnival rides, food and a parade will follow.
