Big Well Fly Fishery 01600 772904 Phil Morgan popped down the road from Monmouth to catch rainbows of 7.5lb, 5.5lb and 2.25lb, while John Baker came from Newport to bag his 5.5lb fish.

Derek Brankin cast a red Montana nymph to good effect when it was taken by three rainbows between 5lb and 6lb and the same fly brought John Rix five smaller fish for a 13.5lb total. Ben Aston's three fish added up to 8.25lb; Matthew Snowzell fished catch and release and hooked 10 trout to 4lb and brothers John and Phil Harris returned 13 fish to 3.5lb.

Wentwood Reservoir 01291 425158 The season ends on Saturday. Wind and rain hit sport and no one managed a limit during the week. Tony and Ann Heming put together a joint catch of five rainbows weighing 10.5lb from a boat and Wentwood Reservoir Club secretary Dave Jones boated a brace weighing 4.5lb. Alan Banner bank fished for his brace of 3lb fish; Ian Hewitt cast from the east bank for two weighing 4.75lb and Gary Wharton banked two rainbows for 4.5lb.
