ARNOLD BREAKS A LEG GOVERNOR IN `GOOD SPIRITS' AFTER SKI ACCIDENT IN IDAHO.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (German pronunciation (IPA): [ˈaɐ̯nɔlt ˈaloɪ̯s ˈʃvaɐ̯ʦənˌʔɛɡɐ]  broke his leg while skiing with his family Saturday morning in Sun Valley, Idaho <includeonly></includeonly> Sun Valley is a city and affluent resort community in the central part of the U.S. state of Idaho, adjacent to the city of Ketchum in Blaine County. , according to his staff.

The governor was taken to a local hospital for X-rays and then discharged with a fractured right femur femur (fē`mər): see leg. . No one else was involved in the accident.

According to Adam Mendelsohn, the governor's deputy chief of staff for communications, Schwarzenegger will have surgery to repair the femur when he returns to Los Angeles after the holiday.

This was Schwarzenegger's second trip to the emergency room this year. In January, he received 15 stitches in his lip after a traffic collision while riding his motorcycle with his son Patrick near his Los Angeles home. His son suffered cuts and bruises.
