ARMY ACCUSES PAIR OF RAPING FEMALE PRIVATES.

The Army has charged an officer and a drill instructor with raping female privates at a training center in Maryland and is investigating accusations that an unspecified number of other men at the center engaged in sexual harassment sexual harassment, in law, verbal or physical behavior of a sexual nature, aimed at a particular person or group of people, especially in the workplace or in academic or other institutional settings, that is actionable, as in tort or under equal-opportunity statutes. .

There previously had been rapes at the center but ``most of the ones that have come up are, quite frankly, between trainees,'' Gibson said. ``But this is different. You get very concerned about the idea you may have people in positions of trust that are abusing that trust.''

Major Gibson added: ``We may have additional charges brought against folks. We still have a lot of people to talk to.''

Trainees, some from other branches of the armed forces, spend several weeks to several months at the center.
