ARLO RESOURCES ANNOUNCES NEW OXIDE EPITHERMAL GOLD DISCOVERY MADE AT RIO LIRI, PANAMA.VANCOUVER, BC--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 1995--Arlo Resources, is pleased to announce a new gold discovery based on five drill holes completed in the Rio Liri concession at the Cerro Pelado zone during Phase I drilling program, in the Republic of Panama. A total of eight core drill holes were completed with six holes assayed and two drill holes' results pending on the property totaling 1,101 meters. Five of the drill holes have intersected significant oxide gold mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. The Cerro Pelado zone is located approximately 30 kilometers southwest of the Santa Rosa Santa Rosa, city, Argentina Santa Rosa, city (1991 pop. 80,629), capital of La Pampa prov., central Argentina. The drilling on the Rio Liri Concession at the Cerro Pelado zone targeted one of the two large gold soil anomalies. The northern untested gold anomaly is roughly 700 by 600 meters measured by 100 ppb ppb abbr. parts per billion contours and the southern anomaly is approximately 1 km by 600 meters measured by 100 ppb contours. The six holes were completed as an initial test on three separate target areas within the Cerro Norte grid which contains a geochemically anomalous area (Cu-Au-Mo) in excess of ten square kilometers. It is part of a much larger anomalous trend that flanks the northeastern side of the Petaquilla Batholith batholith, enormous mass of intrusive igneous rock, that is, rock made of once-molten material that has solidified below the earth's surface (see rock). Batholiths usually are granitic (see granite) in composition, have steeply inclined walls, have no visible floors, and covers an area of similar magnitude and potential as that of the southwest side of the Batholith which hosts the extensive mineral resources Noun 1. mineral resources - natural resources in the form of minerals natural resource, natural resources - resources (actual and potential) supplied by nature centered in the Petaquilla Concession. The Cerro Norte grid is being expanded both to the northwest and the southeast where the Cerro Norte zone remains open to expansion. Additional drilling is being planned to follow-up the mineralization intersected in hole ON95-05, and test a variety of other favorable geochemical targets within the Cerro Norte grid area. Work will continue on the Chorcha Concession in late May on East Chorcha, a geophysical anomaly located approximately 1 km east of the recently discovered copper/gold stockwork zone. This discovery was announced in an April 4, 1995 press release from Arlo Resources and describes drill intercepts from four drill holes in a copper/gold stockwork system. Work on East Chorcha will involve geologic mapping, rock sampling, and drill target selection. In addition, a second area approximately 6 km northwest of the Chorcha copper/gold stockwork zone will be mapped and rock sampled to follow up previous anomalous copper stream sediment sampling. Drilling at Chorcha proper will commence in late July to further delineate the copper/gold stockwork zone and to test targets at East Chorcha.
