ARLETA MIMES SIGN ON FOR TOURNAMENT.

Byline: Daily News

A youth drama troupe from Liberty Temple Church in Arleta has mimed its way into a national competition for the Church of God of Cleveland Cleveland, former county, England
Cleveland, former county, NE England, created under the Local Government Act of 1972 (effective 1974). It was composed of the county boroughs of Hartlepool and Teeside and parts of the former counties of Durham and
, Tenn.

The group, part of the church's Sworn Impact Youth Ministries, won a state competition in Fresno last month to earn the August trip to Indianapolis where it will compete against a field of 500 other youth groups from across the country, said Chris Morrison, the Liberty Temple's youth minister.

``For the church, it's recognition basically within denomination Denomination

,'' Morrison said this week. ``It's also a lot of pride for the kids, who have a chance to win scholarships to Lee College,'' which is run by the church.

Members of the troupe include Raymond Nix, 15; Justin Brown, 13; Jose Reynoso, 14; Freddie Reynoso, 13; Crystal Nix, 16; and Tammy Santana, 15.

``They pantomime pantomime or mime (păn`təmīm) [Gr.,=all in mimic], silent form of the drama in which the story is developed by movement, gesture, facial expression, and stage properties.  to a Christian song in full mime makeup makeup

At the state competition, the kids performed to ``Let the Church Rise,'' a Christian contemporary song.

When his young parishioners aren't competing, they perform at youth rallies and minister to other churches, Morrison said.

At the Fresno competition, Liberty Temple Church's 15-member choir choir [O.Fr.]
