AREW presents 'Greening Your Office 'event.


The Association of Real Estate Women (AREW) will present "Greening Your New York City New York City: see New York, city.
New York City

City (pop., 2000: 8,008,278), southeastern New York, at the mouth of the Hudson River. The largest city in the U.S.
 Office", a seminar to be held on Tuesday, March 25 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. featuring a panel of experts who will offer a multifaceted review of the many ways in which small and large companies can move toward the goal of achieving a sustainable office environment.

Panelists, who will present the architect/interior designer, property management and legal points of view respectively, will be: Joan Blumenfeld, FAIA FAIA Florida Association of Insurance Agents

, LEED, Principal, Perkins+Will; Lance Carlile, Sr. Vice President, Jones Lang LaSalle Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL) is a major real estate and money management services firm headquartered in the Aon Center in Chicago, Illinois and the only company in its industry making it into Fortune magazine's list of the 100 Best Places to Work in the U.S. ; Lori Schwarz, Esq., Principal, Zetlin & De Chiara, LLP. Peter Syrett, AIA, LEED, Associate Principal of Perkins+Will will serve as moderator for the discussion.

This seminar will focus on the unique issues of greening an office in New York City from lease signing through construction and into occupancy. The panel will discuss "green" leases, LEED-CI and LEED -EB, sustainable building and the New York City building code, means to lower your operational costs, how to create a healthier workplace, how to strengthen the relationship between environmental responsibility and corporate mission; and how to work with commercial building landlords on all of these issues.

The seminar will be held at the LEED Silver-level offices of Perkins+Will, 215 Park Avenue South (just north of the W Hotel, NE corner of Union Square) on the 4th floor. Joan Blumenfeld, FAIA, LEED, is Director of Interior Design at Perkins+Will. Her clients include Bloomberg, L'Oreal, Reuters, Fidelity, Sothebys, and Planned Parenthood, as well public sector entities such as the NYC Fire Department and the Office of General Services. Her award winning projects have been published in Interior Design, Vanity Fair, the New York Times, Contract, Architectural Record, Metropolis, and other press. She was 2007 President of the AIA NY Chapter, is a former board member for IIDA, Pro Mujer, and WX, Women Executives in Real Estate, and a LEED Accredited accredited

recognition by an appropriate authority that the performance of a particular institution has satisfied a prestated set of criteria.

Lance Carlile has over 22 years of real estate experience. Currently Regional Property Management Director for New York at Jones Lang LaSalle, he is responsible for all aspects of financial management, maintenance and operations for a 12.6 million square foot portfolio of commercial office buildings. His responsibilities include the day-to-day management of the portfolio for owners such as Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Equitable, New York Life, LaSalle Investment Management, Invesco, Pitcairn Properties, UN Development Corporation and Mutual of America Mutual of America Life Insurance Company, also referred to as Mutual of America is a Fortune 1000 mutual company based in New York, New York. Founded in 1945, it is ranked on the Forbes 500 list as the 10th largest insurance company in the United States. , and the supervision of over 55 Jones Lang LaSalle professionals and approximately 120 other Jones Lang LaSalle employees. He is also charged with developing and implementing Green Building strategies across the portfolio and is a member of the firm's Property Management Executive Committee.
