AREA NOTEBOOK: CONEJO HOOPS LEAGUE REGISTRATION OPENS.

The Conejo Recreation and Park District Sports Office is accepting mail-in registration for the Winter 1998-99 Adult Winter Basketball League Noun 1. basketball league - a league of basketball teams

Registration will be at the Crowley House/Sports Office, 2522 Pleasant Way, Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown. , from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Winter league consists of two preseason games, 10 league games and playoffs for the four teams in each division.

The league is open to anyone 16 years and older. Games are played at Bouchard and Thousand Oaks community centers and Newbury Park High.

The cost is $368 for in-district and $442 for out-of-district teams.

Soccer: Kalifornia Indoor Soccer
This article is primarily regarding indoor soccer as played in North America. Indoor soccer may also be used as a generic term for versions of football (soccer) played indoors; see futsal and five-a-side football for similar games.
 stadiums is offering free instructional soccer clinics for women, as well as children ages 5-8.

The clinics are one hour and include instruction on basic skills.

Mail-in registration is ends Jan. 2. Late registration will be at Crowley House in Thousand Oaks starting Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Diving diving

Divers learn the fundamentals of springboard diving with competitions in age groups.

This is a year-round U.S. diving program.

Adult league: The Conejo Recreation and Park District sports office is taking applications for its adult fall basketball league.

Games will be played Thursday and Sunday evenings at Thousand Oaks and Borchard community centers. The league is open to players ages 16 and older and offers C and D divisions.

The cost is $315 for in-district teams and $378 for out-of-district teams. The fee includes an $80 refundable forfeit To lose to another person or to the state some privilege, right, or property due to the commission of an error, an offense, or a crime, a breach of contract, or a neglect of duty; to subject property to confiscation; or to become liable for the payment of a penalty, as the result of a  fee.

Register at the Crowley House sports office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
