 AREA McDONALD'S RESTAURANTS LAUNCH
'OPERATION SWEET SUPPORT' TO AID HURRICANE VICTIMS
HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- On Sunday, Sept. 13, McDonald's(R) restaurants of central Pennsylvania will serve up total sales from all dessert products to benefit disaster-stricken families victimized by Hurricane Andrew in Southern Florida and Louisiana.
Fifty-five area McDonald's restaurants hope to raise more than $25,000 during it's one-day "Operation Sweet Support" fundraiser for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, according to Stephen J. Arnold, president, McDonald's Owner/Operators Association of Central Pennsylvania.
"The 22 area McDonald's owner/operators wanted to help the families who've been gravely affected by the hurricane," said Arnold. "It doesn't matter if your neighbor lives next door, in the next state or in another country. When disaster strikes, it's everybody's business."
Area residents can participate in "Operation Sweet Support" by purchasing any dessert at their neighborhood McDonald's restaurant on Sunday, Sept. 13.
"Support never tasted so sweet," said Arnold. "Anyone can enjoy a Sundae or any other dessert at McDonald's this Sunday with the knowledge that every penny spent will help families who really need it."
