 troopers handled just a handful of minor crashes, Sweeney said.

That break could continue through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. There is only a 20 percent chance of early morning showers today, with skies becoming partly cloudy. The high temperature will be around 60.

Skies will also be partly cloudy Thursday with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s, forecasters said. Rain is expected to return this weekend.
