AREA Bancshares Names Schroeder as Top Holding Company Lending Officer.

: AREA) (www.areabancshares.com), Kentucky's largest bank holding company, has named banking veteran Edward H. Schroeder as senior vice president for loan administration, the company's top lending position.

Schroeder has been the senior loan officer for the company's AREA Bank in Owensboro since joining the organization in 1996. Prior to that, he served nearly 25 years in the Iowa banking industry, most recently as market president for Firstar Bank Iowa in Burlington.

Schroeder is a graduate of the University of Iowa Not to be confused with Iowa State University.

Scott McCain, who has been vice president of the Owensboro commercial banking department since 1994, is succeeding him as senior lender for AREA-Owensboro. He joined the bank in 1988.
