ARE YOU READY TO ROCK?Byline: - Simone Schramm It's only rock 'n' roll rock 'n' roll: see rock music., but Erica Childs likes it, and so do the students who attend her twice-weekly body-sculpting class known as Rock 'n' Roll Bootcamp. The energetic sessions began two years ago as a fund-raising event for Carpenter Avenue Elementary School in Studio City. The money raised helps buy learning materials for the school. Erica has taught such fitness classes since 1989 after she had the idea to incorporate more classic rock with current music. She said she's always been into classic rock and got tired of taking other classes with a limited variety of music. ``I put in songs that people love and grew up with. It eases the pain, or intensifies it, whichever way you want to go.'' And don't be surprised if you hear a song from the Who; it's her favorite band and her loyal students expect it. ``It's a way to tone and stimulate the mind and body,'' said Childs. ``You never know what to expect, but one thing you will expect is a good workout.'' As with other aerobics classes, it is designed to motivate through music, except it rocks a little more, and the pumped-up liveliness of Childs raises it to another level. Her motto: ``If it's shakin', that means it's workin'.'' Rock 'n' Roll Bootcamp takes place at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
