Time For The Guru) (UK # 5, Ger #2, Australia #4). Homme. The result is a heavier album in which the quirky quirk n. 1. A peculiarity of behavior; an idiosyncrasy: "Every man had his own quirks and twists" Harriet Beecher Stowe. 2. rhythms and melodies that characterised the first two albums are overshadowed by Alex Turner's increasingly ambitious lyrics. My Propeller, laden with doubleentendres, and Secret Door's oldfashioned phrases particularly stand out. This may be Arctic Monkeys' third-best album so far, but even with its slight flaws they're still so far ahead of the chasing pack it barely matters. JD |
