Circle International (Nasdaq:CRCL CRCL Creatinine Clearance

) for a multi-year contract in which Circle will provide full-service integrated global transportation and logistics for ARCO's upstream international oil and gas exploration and production operations.

Under the contract, Circle will manage the expediting, receiving, staging and movement of exploration and production materials and equipment, to ARCO field operations in Algeria, China, Indonesia and multiple exploration sites around the world. Imports of geological samples will also be managed by Circle.

Circle won ARCO's endorsement as its primary global logistics partner based on the company's experience and energy industry expertise, IT systems strength, understanding of ARCO's business and logistics issues, and ease of implementation, noted John Howard For other persons of the same name, see John Howard (disambiguation).

, ARCO's director of worldwide procurement and logistics operations.

"Circle showed persistence, responsiveness and excellent 'outside the box' thinking," Howard said. "They delivered innovative ideas backed by action. Their new vision and their commitment to continuous improvement provided a superior solution that complemented and supported our business objectives."

ARCO evaluated more than 25 proposals, selecting Circle from a short list of six global logistics providers. The award represents a new account for Circle that will generate some 4 million kilos of ocean freight, and 750,000 kilos of air freight air freight nflete m por avión

The program established for ARCO calls for Circle to provide integrated supplier order management and door-to-door transportation service, with Circle directing the daily flow of goods from ARCO's more than 500 suppliers throughout its logistics pipeline worldwide.

Circle receives purchase order information electronically from ARCO, then works directly with the supplier to verify and schedule product release; receive it at the company's Houston logistics center; inspect, pack and crate; build consolidations of multiple vendor orders for field production and exploration sites; select the appropriate transportation mode; and then manage the transportation cycle to delivery.
