ARCHITECT NAMED TO PLANNING PANEL.

LANCASTER - Bruce MacPherson Bruce MacPherson (born May 19, 1958 in Pemburg, United Kingdom) is a former field hockey player from Canada, who participated in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. MacPherson was appointed to replace Scott Idleman, who resigned from the commission because he was moving out of state. MacPherson, named to the commission by Councilman Ed Sileo, will serve the remainder of Idleman's term, which expires in April.

``I've dealt with planning and planning commissioners. I know how the system works,'' MacPherson said. ``I can bring that perspective to the commission and hopefully help improve the process.''

In Lancaster, each member of the City Council appoints a member to the planning commission. Sileo, whose seat on the council is up for election in April, said he will re-appoint MacPherson if his bid for re-election is successful.
