Business Editors

ARNHEM, The Netherlands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2001

ARCADIS (Nasdaq: ARCAF; Euronext: ARCAD) announced today that its Belgian subsidiary, Gedas NV, has signed an agreement through which it will assist Philips Lighting NV in Turnhout, Belgium in the construction of a production facility for UHP-burners, a top product of Philips that, among other applications, is used in beamers for data projection.

Under the terms of the agreement, ARCADIS will provide a feasibility study "A Feasibility Study" is an episode of the original The Outer Limits television show. It first aired on 13 April, 1964, during the first season. It was remade in 1997 as part of the revived The Outer Limits series with a minor title change.  for the new facility, as well as multidisciplinary mul·ti·dis·ci·pli·nar·y

infrastructure for this large production and office facility. Additionally, ARCADIS is responsible for safety control during the building process and overall project management. The construction of this multi million complex needs to be finished in May 2002, which puts a high pressure on the building process.

"In selecting a partner for this project, ARCADIS' integrated approach, involving a representation of all disciplines and a permanent posting of ARCADIS consultants on site, was very appealing to us," stated Henk Coppens, managing director of Philips Lighting NV. "This, combined with our earlier experience with ARCADIS in the design of industrial buildings, convinced us that ARCADIS is the right partner for this project."

Harrie Noy, Chairman of the Executive Board of ARCADIS NV commented: "We are very pleased to be working with Philips Lighting on the construction of this important facility. This project fits well in our strategy to intensify in·ten·si·fy
