:ARCS) announced today that its Antennas America Division has been awarded a contract by Oztrak PTY Ltd. in Australia to integrate its GPS antenna system into Oztrak's vehicle tracking and information solution.

Antennas America's antenna system, designed for GPS combined with cellular, CDPD (Cellular Digital Packet Data) A low-speed, digital, wireless data network that is an enhancement to an existing analog cellular network. Based on IBM's CelluPlan II, CDPD provides a packet overlay onto the AMPS network and moves data at 19.  or GSM on the same circuit, was developed to provide a more flexible antenna system for vehicular installations. Its low profile mounting configuration allows the antenna to be installed in numerous locations inside the vehicle rather than being exposed for easy access by intruders or thieves.

GPS is a satellite-based radio navigation system developed and operated by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD (1) (Dial On Demand) A feature that allows a device to automatically dial a telephone number. For example, an ISDN router with dial on demand will automatically dial up the ISP when it senses IP traffic destined for the Internet. ). GPS permits land, sea, and airborne users to determine their three-dimensional position, velocity, and time 24 hours a day, in all weather, anywhere in the world, with a precision and accuracy far better than other radio navigation systems available today or in the foreseeable future.
