Long-term disability http://www.m2.com ARC International plc (LSE LSE - Language Sensitive Editor : ARK), a provider of configurable CPU/DSP processor cores and application subsystems, announced on Monday (8 August) new releases of the ARC 700 processor core family. According to the company, the newly released ARC 700 core family includes RTL improvements in the core's execution pipeline and supports high performance standard cell and memory libraries. The new cores reportedly feature increases of up to 33% in processor clock frequency and up to 69% in Dhrystone MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second) The execution speed of a computer. For example, .5 MIPS is 500,000 instructions per second; 100 MIPS is a hundred million instructions per second. . The synthesizable ARC 750D core now offers a clock frequency of up to 533 MHz and a Dhrystone DMIPS performance of 813 on a 0.13im process, the company claims. The new versions of the ARC 700 core family are expected to be available to new licensees at the end of August 2005. In addition, the new cores will be available as a maintenance release to all ARC 700 family licensees with current maintenance agreements for no additional charge, the company claims.
