Arnold S. Tenney, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ARC International Corp., commented, "John was a natural choice to oversee our expanding network of arena operations. His depth of management experience will be a tremendous asset to the Company as we open new facilities and execute our development program."

Mr. Cook brings extensive recreation facility management experience to his new role as Director of North American Arena Operations. He has managed ARC's Westwood arena since 1978, and in 1995 he was chosen to oversee all three of ARC's Toronto skating center operations which together draw over 1 million patrons annually. Between 1987 and 1993, he also directed the Wendel Clark and Doug Gilmour summer hockey schools in the Toronto area. He is a former assistant hockey coach at Humber College, from which he graduated in 1977, and has played professional hockey in the United States, Canada and Europe.

Mr. Cook added, "I'm thrilled to expand my role within ARC International, particularly as we open the first of our 1998 facilities in Chesapeake. Unlike ice-belt communities with strong skating traditions, Chesapeake is a largely untapped market, offering ARC the opportunity to build its customer base from the ground up. By creating our own hockey leagues, learn-to-skate and school recreation programs and offering more public skating, we can truly become the community's premiere recreation and entertainment venue and tailor programming for maximum benefit."
