ARAMARK and the American Organization of Nurse Executives Partner to Strengthen Relationships Between Nurses and Support Service Groups.


New Guiding Principles Meant to Assist Nursing Organizations

WASHINGTON -- ARAMARK Healthcare and the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE AONE American Organization of Nurse Executives

) have aligned to develop guiding principles to support hospital nurse executives in building stronger relationships with support functions ranging from housekeeping A set of instructions that are executed at the beginning of a program. Under the guidance of AONE and ARAMARK Healthcare, 50 nurse executives from across the U.S., Canada and Ireland gathered to provide input on what a collaborative partnership between nursing and support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  will look like in the hospital of the future. The Guiding Principles for Relationships among Nursing and Support Services in the Clinical Setting is a result of this work.

Specific recommendations are structured under the following seven guiding principles:

2. Inclusive Shared Governance

3. Clear Scope of Practice

4. Shared Ownership of Patient Needs

5. Culture of Mutual Respect and Recognition

6. Safer Less Stressful Physical Environment

7. Continuous, Open Communication

These guiding principles complement several other AONE guiding principles and provide additional definition of the patient care delivery and hospital work environment needs of the future. They also map directly to the Principles & Elements of a Healthful health·ful
