ARAMARK Uniform Services Issues $300 Challenge for Automotive OEMs.

BURBANK, Calif. -- Company Will Pay for Independent Testing to Demonstrate How Its Specialized Laundering Process Helps Reduce Contamination of Paint Garments Better Than Competing Solutions

ARAMARK Uniform Services has introduced a new challenge to demonstrate the superiority of its laundering process for automotive paint spray environments. Until March 31, 2005, automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and ) can sign up for independent industrial testing that measures the contaminants left by the d/Kote(TM) process versus those left by competing paint spray laundering processes. Testing takes approximately two weeks and is valued at $300.

"ARAMARK has long been a leader in providing top-notch service to the automotive manufacturing industry," said Stephen Donly, president of ARAMARK Uniform Services. "Independent testing has shown that the d/Kote paint spray laundering process not only exceeds industry requirements, but beats the solutions of our competitors. Now that we are offering this challenge, OEMs can see the results for themselves."

Small particles on clothing, such as heavy dust or human hair, can drift onto a vehicle during the painting stages and ruin a paint finish. Automotive OEMs must then repaint Re`paint´

the vehicle, which can add as much as $400 to the vehicle's manufacturing cost. Laundering employees' uniforms and other materials such as robot covers with a specialized process can significantly reduce the need to repaint finished vehicles.

d/Kote, a paint spray laundering process available only from ARAMARK, removes 1K, 2K and powder coat automotive paints, as well as other contaminants, from paint spray garments and robot covers. The process is gentle enough on fabrics so that uniforms look clean and professional longer than when laundered with competing processes. As part of the d/Kote process, fabrics are packaged and shipped in specially designed plastics that keep contaminants out during transport and storage.

ARAMARK helps reduce contaminants by following strict standard operating procedures standard operating procedure Medtalk A technique, method or therapy performed 'by the book,' using a standard protocol meeting internally or externally defined criteria; a formal, written procedure that describes how specific lab operations are to be performed.  in its Class 100 and Class 1000 automotive cleanroom laundries. ARAMARK also tests each delivery of coveralls and robot covers for fiber release and submits the results to the automotive OEM for review. ARAMARK uses bar code technology to track all coveralls and robot covers, so that automotive OEMs can see where each garment or cover is at any given time.

In the ARAMARK challenge, garments will be subjected to either a readily releasable test of particulates or a bi-directional shake test shake test Foam stability index, see there , two tests defined by the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology RP-CC005 recommended practice.
