ARAMARK Parks & Resorts Celebrates Earth Day with Special Packages and Earth-Friendly Events.


PHILADELPHIA -- ARAMARK Parks & Resorts is kicking off the spring travel season by celebrating Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2006, at its operations in several national parks throughout the country. Visitors can enjoy special rates and events that celebrate and preserve the natural resources and environments.

"Earth Day has been recognized for the past 36 years as a catalyst for national environmental recognition," said Bruce Fears, president of ARAMARK Harrison Lodging. "In honor of this international initiative, ARAMARK, through its PlanetEVERgreen program, is offering a wide range of activities and packages for guests who are interested in learning how to protect and preserve our nation's precious natural, cultural and historical resources for future generations."

PlanetEVERgreen is the official name for ARAMARK Parks & Resorts' environmental management program, which influences every aspect of the company's business, from building design, guest education and sustainable cuisine initiatives, recycling and waste reduction to purchasing and procurement.

Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado
Friday, April 21, 2006 - Saturday, April 22, 2006
Earth Day Weekend Package
Cost: $169.00 per person
Package includes: Two nights stay at Far View Resort in Mesa Verde
National Park, a half-day tour and dinner for two at the Metate Room
featuring choices from the new sustainable and organic cuisine menu.

Disclaimers: Minimum charge is $338.00, plus taxes and surcharges.
Gratuities and NPS $10 automobile park entrance fee are not included.
Package is subject to availability and possible black-out dates and
may be withdrawn without notice. Full pre-payment is required when
booked and is refundable with 72 hours advance notice of cancellation.
Unused package components are non-refundable and not transferable and
substitutions are not allowed. Traditional or deluxe room -- best

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Arizona/Utah

Lake Clean-Up at Lake Powell Resort; Bullfrog Marina and Halls
Crossing Marina
1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost: FREE
Activities include: Participants will be given trash bags for
clean-up along the shoreline and contests will be held for the most
trash collected.  Snacks and refreshments will be provided for
participants and a coloring contest for kids will also be hosted. For

Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas is also hosting an interpretive, guided
two-hour boat tour and hike on Friday, April 21, 2006.  Tours depart
at - 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., to explore the lake and surrounding
desert landscape.  Participants will have the opportunity to see the
lake outskirts up close and visit Wahweap Windows, a giant natural
opening in the sandstone. Guest will also learn about the efforts to
stop graffiti and how to preserve and protect the park and explore the
desert ecosystem.  The cost is $34 per person and those interested
should book in advance by calling 928-645-1070 to reserve a space.
Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas, managed by ARAMARK, is an authorized
concessioner of the National Park Service.

Shenandoah National Park, Virginia
Saturday, April 22, 2006
Park Clean-Up at Skyland Resort and Big Meadows Lodge
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost: FREE
Activities include: Participants will be given T-shirts and trash
bags to clean up the park.  Photos will also be taken to document
volunteers and the trash collected, and a sustainable and organic
cuisine cook-out will be hosted for participants.

Olympic National Park, Washington
Saturday, April 22, 2006
Park Clean-Up at Lake Quinault Lodge and Kalaloch Lodge
1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost: FREE
Activities include: Hosted trash clean-ups will take place on the
highways surrounding both Lake Quinault Lodge and Kalaloch Lodge.
Participants can pick up trash bags at the front desk at each
location.  Trees are also available for purchase and can be replanted
to celebrate the day or tree cards are available to have a tree
planted in someone's name.

John Hancock Hotel and Conference Center
Saturday, April 29, 2006
River Clean-Up at Charles River in Boston
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cost: FREE
Activities include: Participants can help to clean up and restore
areas along a portion of the Charles River in Boston.
