ARAMARK Launches Just4U(TM) for Vending to Make It Easier for Customers to Enjoy Healthier Snacks and Beverages; New Program Offers More Than 150 Items, with Easy-to-Read Nutritional Guidance at the Vending Machine.

PHILADELPHIA -- ARAMARK Refreshment Services Inc. is offering a new healthy vending program that helps customers identify, purchase and enjoy healthier snacks and beverages in the workplace. The new initiative, Just4U for Vending, incorporates elements of ARAMARK's Just4U - Food that fits your life! initiative, which introduced customers nationwide to an award-winning, healthy dining alternative.

Just4U for Vending builds on nearly 10 years of healthy vending options from ARAMARK, which introduced its Balanced Selections program in 1996 to make it easier for customers to identify snack foods that are low in fat. Just4U for Vending takes healthy vending to the next level, recognizing that different people may choose to eat healthy in different ways and making it easier to find food and drink options that fit their preferences.

Based on Unprecedented Customer Research

In 2004, ARAMARK launched DiningStyles(TM), the company's comprehensive, proprietary research methodology that enables ARAMARK to better understand its customers' differing dining needs and preferences. Unprecedented research conducted under the DiningStyles framework found that 76 percent of consumers surveyed believe they are ultimately responsible for making sensible food choices away from home, they want providers to help by designating items that meet specific diet and healthy requirements, and they want nutrition information at the point of sale.

With this research, and led by an on-staff registered dietitian, ARAMARK identified more than 150 products that qualify for Just4U for Vending:

--Foods lower in fat, such as pretzels, baked potato chips, low-fat cookies and crackers, and granola and fruit bars.

--Foods and drinks lower in carbohydrates, such as nuts, low-carb snack bars and diet soft drinks.

--Foods and drinks lower in calories, such as fruit cups and reduced-calorie juices.

--Bottled water and 100 percent juices.

"Consumers increasingly are aware of the health implications of what they eat, and they want nutrition information available at the point of purchase," said Rebecca S. Maximizing Employee Satisfaction

As with all ARAMARK vending systems, clients are able to customize what is available in their vending machines. ARAMARK works with clients to understand their goals for introducing more nutritional options into the workplace, then makes suggestions for how to best integrate that into their current offerings to maximize employee satisfaction with the selections.

Options that fall within criteria for Just4U for Vending are highlighted with bold product identifiers. Easy-to-understand nutrition information is posted on the vending machine, allowing consumers to quickly and easily find the snacks and beverages that are right for them.

Just4U for Vending is now available to clients throughout North America.
