ARABS-ISRAEL - April 1 - Bush Calls On Arafat To Stop Terrorism.

US Pres. Bush, under pressure from the Arab world, demonstrators in Europe and senior US lawmakers to help defuse the crisis, defends Sharon and again calls on Arafat to stop the suicide bombings. He says: "There will never be peace so long as there's terror, and all of us must fight terror". White House spokesman Ari Fleischer says Washington will continue with its current Mideast policy, adding that Pres. Bush "would never walk away from peace". Fleischer says Israel has a right to defend itself against terrorism and urges Arafat to denounce terrorism and put a stop to the suicide bombings. He also urges Sharon to leave the door to peace open.
