ARAB-US RELATIONS - Oct. 4 - Six Charged As 'Terror Cell'.


Attorney-General John Ashcroft says the Justice Department has charged six people, including one woman and a former army reservist, with conspiring to wage war against the US and offering support to Al Qaida and the Taliban. The suspects - five US citizens and a Jordanian living in the US - are named as Jeffrey Leon Battle, Patrice Lumumba Ford Patrice Lumumba Ford has been accused of membership in a terrorist group dubbed the Portland Seven, members of which attempted to travel to Afghanistan shortly after 9/11 in order to aid the Taliban. , Ahmad Ibrahim Bilal, Muhammad Ibrahim Bilal, Habis Abdulla Al Saoub Habis Abdulla al Saoub, aka Abu Tarek, (born: November 19, 1965 died October 2003) was a Jordanian national and member of the Portland Seven, and later a member of an al Qaeda cell.  and October Martinique Lewis. John Phillip Walker Lindh (born February 9, 1981) is an American who was captured during the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan while fighting there for the Taliban.
