ARAB-US RELATIONS - Feb. 20 - Washington Warns Of New Attack On Iraq.

Rear Admiral Craig Quigley in the Pentagon says: "If we feel in the future that we have good information that would lead to our knowledge of targets (in Iraq) that would degrade or disrupt their ability to have a better picture, we will reserve the right to take those targets under attack". AFP reports other Pentagon spokesmen as saying US aircraft over southern Iraq came under fire from SAMS and anti-aircraft artillery on Feb. 18 but did not retaliate immediately. (There were unconfirmed rumours that the Feb. 16 attack was not as successful as the US would have wished because some of the targets were not destroyed or severely damaged).
