APS Seeks 1,000 Megawatts of Long-Term Resources.


PHOENIX -- Arizona Public Service Arizona Public Service Company is the largest electric utility in Arizona and the principal subsidiary of publicly-traded S&P 500 member Pinnacle West Capital Corporation (NYSE: PNW), which in turn had been formerly named AZP Group  Company (APS) announced today that it has issued a request for proposal (RFP (Request For Proposal) A document that invites a vendor to submit a bid for hardware, software and/or services. It may provide a general or very detailed specification of the system.

 APS is seeking through a separate RFP announced in March, will help the company meet its customers' growing peak energy needs. The number of APS customers has been growing at a rate three times the national average for more than 10 years and is expected to continue to grow at approximately 4 percent a year.

Competitive proposals for this "Reliability" RFP must be for a period of not less than five years and provide a minimum capacity of 25 megawatts.
