APS Healthcare Appoints Christopher (Kit) Gorton as President, APS Commercial Programs.

, has been appointed to serve as President of APS Healthcare's Commercial Programs Division. In addition to his responsibilities as division president, Dr. Gorton will retain the responsibilities of Chief Medical Officer and will continue to report to APS' CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , Eileen Auen. As part of APS' expanding national footprint and growing commitment to locating business units in the communities where members live and work, Dr. Gorton will work both out of APS' Silver Spring corporate headquarters and will oversee a new local site to be established in Central Pennsylvania where he lives with his wife and family.

Dr. Gorton joined APS in January of 2006 and brought to the company over a decade of medical leadership experience and most recently served as Chief Medical Officer for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. He is board certified board certified,
