APS Announces Executive Management Changes.PHOENIX -- Arizona Public Service Arizona Public Service Company is the largest electric utility in Arizona and the principal subsidiary of publicly-traded S&P 500 member Pinnacle West Capital Corporation (NYSE: PNW), which in turn had been formerly named AZP Group (APS) today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Donald Brandt to the position of President of APS. That individual is expected to join the Company early in 2007 and will report directly to CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. Davis, who is retaining direct responsibility over generation to ensure a high level of focus on nuclear generation. "We appreciate Jim's many important contributions to the Company during his tenure," said Davis. "We especially applaud his initiation of a plan for returning Palo Verde to excellence." Davis noted that, "Always putting nuclear safety first has been a hallmark of Jim's career." Levine joined APS' Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station The Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, a nuclear power plant located in Wintersburg, Arizona, about 45 miles (80 km) west of central Phoenix, is currently the largest nuclear generation facility in the United States, producing over 30,000 gigawatt hours of electricity annually as Vice President of Nuclear Production in 1989 from Arkansas Power and Light and was promoted to his current position in 1999. Before joining the Company in 2002, Brandt served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Ameren Corporation, a St. Louis-based diversified energy services company. He has more than 20 years experience in the electric utility industry. "Don's knowledge and experience have been valuable assets to APS the past four years," said Davis. "I know that under his leadership, the company will continue to prosper and grow and be better positioned to meet the challenges presented by a growing Arizona."
